A circa due ore di treno da Manhattan si trova Greenport, un piccolo porto di pescatori che alla fine degli anni 60 è stato riconvertito in polo turistico. Tutto è rimasto genuino e l’unico Starbucks in paese è il solo promemoria a ricordarti che a circa due ore di treno da Greenport c’è un altro mondo.
All’interno di questa cornice si trova Wm. J. Mills, un’azienda manifatturiera di 25 dipendenti che ha iniziato la propria attività nel 1880 come produttori di vele ma che nel corso degli anni ha diversificato la propria offerta. Più che un’azienda, Wm. J. Mills è un’istituzione per Greenport: la famiglia Mills è uno dei più importanti sponsor del Railroad Museum e Wm. J. Mills II ha personalmente supervisionato la ricostruzione dei dock di Greenport.
Questo è esattamente quello che mi aspetto da chi mette la loro passione nel lavoro che fanno. L’atmosfera che si respira in azienda è 100% autentica
