MICAH SMITH

Parli inglese? L’intervista in italiano qui

Contemporary Standard} Hi Micah, tell us your story.

Micah Smith} My name is A. Micah Smith and I’m a Graphic Designer / Illustrator in the great state of Kansas!
I run a one man shop called My Associate Cornelius, which primarily does print design in the entertainment / music industry. For example, a few clients I have done work for are Myspace, Wilco, Heinz, Spoon, Newsweek & Columbia Records.

Contemporary Standard} Who’s the illustrator/graphic designer from the past which inspired you most?

Micah Smith} Andy Warhol. His use of found pop images and screenprinting has had a major influence on my work. Even his early illustration work as a Commercial Illustrator was great…and often overlooked.

Contemporary Standard} Which moment of the day makes you particularly creative?

Micah Smith} I don’t know if there is an exact moment of time during the day; although, I try to get all the business side of things done in the morning and tend to get my hands dirty in designing / illustrating in the afternoons…and sometimes into the night!

Contemporary Standard} Your work in 3 words.

Micah Smith} Sense Of Humor

Contemporary Standard} What are you working on right now?

Micah Smith} Just wrapped up the European tour poster for the Get Up Kids and, also, finishing up a logo for a cake shop here in the states. After that, taxes…ugh.

Contemporary Standard} Say bye to our readers in your favorite language.

Micah Smith} TTFN! (Ta Ta For Now!)
