ONTOUR SPOTLIGHT
A couple of weeks ago we virtually met Remco together with Etienne, the creative heads behind Ontour, and we asked him a couple of things about the upcoming Fall / Winter collection to discover what’s behind the magnifying glass of Holmes & Watson.

| CS} Hi Remco, how’s the weather today in Eindhoven?
Remco} Finally it’s getting better…looks like the summer is slowly starting up (thank God!). You know the weather in Holland is quite sad most of the time, lots of rain and grey sky. Hopefully our current SS10 collection themed “Stranded Ontour” will bring some sunshine and beach vibes to this country! CS} This is Ontour fifth year…What should we expect and what’s behind the magnifying glass of Holmes & Watson? Remco} Indeed, this year our company celebrates its fifth anniversary and we decided to use this fact as the underlying theme of the upcoming AW10 collection “The Magnificent Five Ontour”. To look back and celebrate the magnificent five years behind us and at the same time look ahead at the greater things to come…So many things happened from the moment we decided to go Ontour five years ago. From a couple of tees we’ve grown into a full range for both men and women, that’s still developing every season. |
Besides, the magnifying glass is a metaphor for the typical English Sherlock Holmes style that inspired us for coming winter season; the colours, the fabrics, prints and the cuts refer to this age in time. We used the magnifying effect in prints and details, resulting in fresh new looks build on traditional garments.
CS} Would you tell us more about fabrics and cuts? Remco} As mentioned above the look is quite classy, with nice wool jackets, waxed cottons, corduroy chino’s, merino wool knits, chambray denims etc. in colours dark brown, forest green, Bordeaux red, navy blue and greys, white and black of course. When reading this you could think it’s too much “grandpa style” but we’ve given all items a modern twist that you could expect from us. So the pieces, cuts and prints stand out and breath a fresh air; some more subtle in the details, other ones more clear and bold. We’ve grown up and the line is cleaner now, but without loosing our typical Ontour signature. |
